Generally speaking, a mixed-income community includes multiple types of housing units — such as condos/apartments, townhomes, and/or single-family homes. A portion of these units are reserved for those who make less than the area median income (AMI). Those who earn less than the AMI and who qualify as residents will have the opportunity to purchase a home below the market rate.
